Real questions from real sellers.

CAN I CLOSE VIRTUALLY?

Unfortunately not. Legal ethics and Georgia law prohibit virtual closings.

CAN’T YOU EMAIL ME THE DOCUMENTS TO SIGN WITH A NOTARY?

That’s unfortunately not possible as well. The State Bar and Georgia Supreme Court both say that we would be acting unethically if we did that. Sorry.

DO I REALLY HAVE TO COME TO CLOSING?

Well, someone certainly does! But if you can’t make it to closing, then you can name an attorney-in-fact to sign on your behalf. We’ll happily arrange for someone in our office to sign for you, and we won’t charge you a thing to do it. Simply let us know, and we’ll take care of everything.

WHERE IS THE CLOSING?

Our office address is 5775 Glenridge Drive, Building B Suite 550, Atlanta, GA 30328, just like at the top of letterhead and on every email we send out. Plug it into your favorite maps app – we like Waze – and it should bring you right here.

WHERE IS BUILDING B?

Building B is directly across from the Glenn Perimeter apartments. There is a sign out front. It says “BUILDING B.”

WHEN IS MY CLOSING?

We use Google calendar for scheduling, because, well, Google makes a darn good calendar that integrates seamlessly with most phones. Sorry, flip phone users. But, as soon as we schedule your closing, we’ll email you a calendar invitation. Be on the watch for it!

WHEN DO I GET MY MONEY?

Your closing will disburse as soon as everyone has signed, we have collected funds in our escrow account, and the buyer’s lender – if there is one – has given us their funding approval. Typically, everything happens within a few hours after closing. If you’re getting your proceeds by wire, you should expect to see money in your account by the end of the day!

CAN’T I JUST GET A CHECK AFTER CLOSING? DO I HAVE TO GET A WIRE?

If you really, really, really want a check after closing, then sure. We can absolutely do that for you. However, consider that:

  • Wire transfers are usually faster than physical checks. When we send a wire, it usually is credited to your account within a couple hours. A check may be held by your bank for days.
  • Wires are a ton more secure. Wires are bank-to-bank electronic transactions. Checks can be lost or stolen.
  • Wires are super more convenient. Everything’s online and no one needs to visit a bank branch.

We wholeheartedly endorse doing everything by wire. They’re just better.
